In Rieselfeld residential district, the delegation took a field trip accompanied by staffs from Frey Architekt investigating on “Sponge City” and “Harmonious Community”, particularly, on the passive house projects “Green House” and “Wood House” which designed by Frey Architekt. As a presentative project, the “Wood House” represented Freiburg City has participated Shanghai Expo in 2010, and won award of “the Best Practice in Sustainable Building and Urban Development”. Thanks for this project, Mr. Wolfgang Frey, chairman of Frey Architekt was received in person by Mr. Kohler, president of Germany of the time. Based on the cases of  “Green House” and “Wood House”,

 members of delegation raised a series of questions on the construction and implementation of passive house buildings, and led to discussions with accompanying staffs. 

At the end of the visiting trip, the delegation visited an energy reform project of Freiburg University -- Freiburg University Library which located in the city center. Freiburg University Library was built in 70s last century, and was renovated from 2009 to 2015. After renovation, it is able to reduce more than 65% energy consumption. The library guide introduced the history, building structure, design concept and functions to the delegation, and ended with a short documentary shows the whole renovation processes left a deep impression on everyone.
