2022-04-04
To find out how the integration of home and outpatient care can also succeed in the Georgian healthcare system, a delegation from the Georgian government and high-ranking representatives of Caritas Georgia and Caritas International visited the Frey Group in Eichstetten.
- Conference name
- GEORGIAN MINISTRY OF HEALTH
- Meeting place
- Eichstetten, Deutschland
The program included the Adlergarten, the Schwanenhof, the Cafe Miteinander and the citizens' office. Tamila Barkalaia, Georgia's Deputy Minister of Health, Meri Maglaperidze, Director of the State Agency for the Protection and Support of Victims and Persons Affected by Human Trafficking, and Tea Gvaramadze, Head of the Department for Social Policy, were visibly impressed by the well-organized and heartfelt network that Wolfgang Frey presented to them in Eichstetten.
In Georgia, only a limited number of people in need receive services from home care services. These 'Home Care Services', are organized by non-governmental organizations such as Caritas, whose Health Care Program Manager Gaioz Kubaneishvili and Health Care Program Officer Ia Adeishvili were also guests at the Kaiserstuhl. These care services are currently financed by donations. However, due to increasing needs and the convincing results of a project carried out by Caritas Georgia, the Georgian government is now planning to introduce home care into the country's health and social care system. The project is supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
