Delegation of Qingdao Sino-German Ecopark Visited Frey Architekten Group

On 30th November, Frey Architekten Group received  a 20-person delegation  of Qingdao Sino-German Ecopark Management Committee organized and led by Ms. Liu Wen, the associate counsel of Qingdao Sino-German Eco-park Management Committee in Rieselfeld, Germany.

Mr. Jürgen Heller, the expert of renewable energy from Frey Architekten Group, gave a themed report on “Smart Green Tower – an Intelligent Community built up by high residential buildings as renewable energy architectures”. Afterwards, the delegation  visited the green residential area in Rieselfeld and ecological Woodhouse as well as ecological Greenhouse, which were invested, designed and constructed by Frey Architekten Group.


“Ecological Greenhouse” is a passive building authenticated by Passive House Institute Germany. It is worth mentioning that the innovative wall paint applied in this project is an innovative  coating which converts nitrogen oxides into oxygen by decompose nitrate. This coating is co-developed by Mr. Wolfgang Frey, Chairman of Frey Architekten Group and Mr. Sto, expert of coating material.


“Ecological Woodhouse”, as the green-ecological demonstration project designed and constructed by Frey Achitekten Group, has represented Freiburg city participated the 2010 Shanghai Expo, and was awarded “The best case prize of sustainable building and city development”. 

In addition , the sustainable green construction materials and technologies applied in “Woohhouse” are the most forward in the world.


In the end, Mr. Jürgen Heller gave a detailed and vivid introduction of “Sponge City” using Rieselfeld community as a typical case.


After visiting the Rieselfeld community, the delegation  investigated the construction site of the project “Smart Green Tower” in Güterbahnhof, Freiburg, which was designed by Frey Architekten Group, and jointly developed and constructed by Siemens as well as Fraunhofer Institute. Mr. Jürgen Heller emphasized again at the construction site that the significance of the concept of architectural innovative energy sources and the “Green Tower” as the intelligent pathway for urban energy-saving and energy-generating buildings.
