This project is located in Jimiya Village at Qingdao's west coast, positioned adjacent to Binhai Avenue in the north, and covering an area of 9371㎡. The goal is to create a children's dreamland with a rich landscape experience that blends well into the natural environment. The width of the ground floor is relatively cramped for kindergartens consisting of 15 classrooms. As a result, the depth of the base has been used in the design thus dividing the main functional spaces (i.e. the c children's class room units and the integrated activity room) into two area sets, north and south, under the premise of ensuring the sunshine requirements.

The building's north-south group and the intermediate connection are three-storey building volumes each. In order to comply with the terrain difference, the south-side group is one layer higher than the north side – However, each child activity unit can reach more than 5 hours of continuous sunlight on the winter solstice – which is significantly higher than the common 3-hour rule. A connection body between the two buildings offers functions like office, logistics and activity rooms. This “connector” and the north-south group jointly enclose the southwest-oriented inner hospital and shield the negative factors of the northeast hospital.

Green trees are added as 'outer courtyard' small garden in the folding recess of the building's street to soften the relationship between the volume of the building and the sight of the surrounding neighborhoods. The shape of the building group layout enables the kindergarten to maximize lighting and landscape to the greatest extent – in respect of sun and rain for the growth and extension of tree branches and leaves. The outer courtyard, the inner courtyard and the mountain views on the south side constitute a multi-level landscape system of the building. The volume of the building conforms to the existing sloping terrain of the base, minimizing the amount of earthwork. The building's shape goes down the slope, echoing the natural form of the mountain surrounding the base, thus integrating into the environment. The shape of the building stretches from north to south, such as the initial seedlings bathing in natural rain dew, in a sort of 'germination', echoing the architectural function of the kindergarten.
